Killer Instinct’s Thunder is Now Free

Killer Instinct’s Thunder is Now Free

The well-received reboot Killer Instinct for the Xbox One has rotated a new character to be free for players to play around with, putting Thunder in the spotlight this time in place of last rotation’s Sabrewulf.

The rotation feature was added to Killer Instinct when its developer, Double Helix, updated the game earlier on this month (january). It’s meant to serve as a means to allow for players to be able to use characters without having to buy them. It’s similar to League of Legend’s champion selection, where a handful of champions are available for free one rotation, and another handful of champions are available for free next rotation. Now that Thunder is in the rotation, Sabrewulf is no longer in the rotation, meaning that it is no longer available to play with for free.

Originally named Chief Thunder back in the original Killer Instinct , the reboot’s Thunder is a formidable-looking, bare chested Native American with two tomahawks and a decorative headdress.

According to CVG , unlocking Killer Instinct’s available characters can be done in two ways. First by purchasing the Combo Breaker pack, which unlocks the first eight available characters, for $19.99 / £16.99 / €19.99. Second by purchasing the Ultra Edition pack, which gives you the contents of the Combo Breaker packs as well as additional bonuses, such as character accessories, costumes and the original Killer Instinct as an in-game arcade game.

Killer Instinct is available as a free digital download exclusively on the Xbox One. If you’d like to know what it’s like, you can check out our review of the game here . Also, I recommend you check out the game’s soundtrack too, especially the “Orchid” theme–that track’s the bomb!
