While Nintendo may be in financial trouble on the whole, some of their titles are doing outstandingly well. As the Wii U fails, the 3DS continues to leap forward, with some of the pest selling titles of last year. The 3DS itself sold 42.74 million units as of December 31 st , 2013. One of it’s best selling games was easily Pok é mon X and Y , which topped out at 11.61 million sales. Aside from the Pok é rush, Zelda: A link Between Worlds sold high at 2.18 million and Mario and Luigi Dream Team is pulling up the rear with 2 million in sales.
On the Wii U end, things are looking much more grim. Only 5.86 million Wii U units have been sold since the console released. The best selling Wii U titles out there, like Wind Waker HD and Super Mario 3D World , have barely sold over a million copies.
Nintendo is set to reveal their new business strategy tomorrow. What do you think they will do to save the Wii U and the rest of their business? Our thought? More Pok é mon !
