DS Games Coming to Nintendo Virtual Console

DS Games Coming to Nintendo Virtual Console

Some people just don’t like portable consoles. Heck, if you aren’t taking a lot of busses, portable consoles are basically just normal consoles that give you a crick in your neck and eyestrain. There are plenty of Fire Emblem fans that want to see a mainstream Fire Emblem title on consoles once again, and Nintendo fans everywhere wonder why they can’t simply purchase 3DS and DS games on the Wii U since the whole GamePad thing basically gives them two screens to play with.

Well, Nintendo has listened and is at least giving the idea of DS backward compatibility on the Wii U a shot. In a recent financial meeting, Nintendo confirmed that DS games would be coming to the Wii U virtual console. As you would expect, the GamePad screen will be used as the bottom screen, and the TV will be used as the top screen, although rumors say that there will be multiple viewing modes, such as having both screens on the TV. This would be very useful for games that use continuous pictures across screens, like the DS Sonic titles. Personally, however, we cannot wait to see someone try to play The World Ends With You on their big screen TV. That’s enough multitasking to make anyone’s head explode.

Stay tuned for more information on what DS games will be coming to the Wii U platform.
