Killer Instinct Has Its Own Ragequitter Hell

Killer Instinct Has Its Own Ragequitter Hell

Back in the days of Marvel 3 (like two years ago) Capcom announced a plan to put ragequitters in ragequitter hell. Now, it looks like Killer Instinct is following suit on the Xbox One.

For those of you who don’t know what ragequitting is, it’s when you decide to disconnect from a match to avoid losing. It’s annoying and stupid and makes the game less fun for other people. It’s something that has plagued all online games for a while now.

Well the original Marvel 3 plan was to handle ragequitters a couple of ways. First of all, it gave them a loss as soon as they disconnected. Second of all, the more you disconnected, the less and less you would be able to play matches with players with a good connection rate. Instead, you would only be put up against other disconnecting players, a sort of Ragequitter Hell

Killer Instinct has adopted this plan and refined it. After your first 10 matches, anyone who achieves a greater than 15% disconnection rate will be put in “jail” where they can only fight against other jailed players. They will have to stay there for 24 hours. If they get sent to jail again, they will have to last for 48 hours, then 72 hours, so on so forth up to a maximum cap of five days.

Double Helix has not dated the update that will bring this system, but they have ensured us that it is coming soon.
