Earlier this week, Microsoft announced via an Xbox Wire news post that the public beta for Crytek’s Warface game is now available over Xbox Live. This popular free-to-play online FPS originally launched on the PC last October.
Warface Xbox 360 Edition will allow beta players to experience different tactical scenarios, gameplay styles, and unique weapon sets from Rifleman, Medic, Engineer, and Sniper soldier classes. Once the game officially launches in the spring, players will then receive regularly scheduled content in the form of new maps, weapons, and co-operative campaign missions. Crytek was kind enough to release a trailer showcasing the new classes that you can see embedded below.
Warface is a game that was pretty well received by PC gamers last year. While I commend Microsoft on their ability to bring this FPS to the Xbox 360, I’m very confused as to why they also wouldn’t release this game on the Xbox One. Perhaps this is something that they will explore later, but for now it seems like a missed opportunity. You can register for the beta now by going to http://www.warface.com/xbox/ .
