Phil Spencer Reveals Worms Battlegrounds and Nutjitsu As First ID@Xbox Games

Phil Spencer Reveals Worms Battlegrounds and Nutjitsu As First ID@Xbox Games

Last night, Phil Spencer confirmed via Twitter that Nutjitsu and Worms Battlegrounds are currently being developed for the Xbox One. Both games will be the first of many titles scheduled to release under Microsoft’s new self-publishing ID@Xbox program.

Nutjitsu is a top-down maze game created by Ninjabee and has drawn strong comparisons to Pac-Man in the sense that the player is in control of a squirrel ninja and is tasked with retrieving various acorns from angry foxes. The game is currently available for all compatible Windows phones.

Franchise creators Team 17 are currently developing Worms Battlegrounds for both the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 platforms. While no other details have been revealed about the game, the general consensus is that we can expect to hear more about it the months ahead.

After hearing about this news, I would say that the ID@Xbox program is off to a decent start. While neither one of the game mentioned above appeal to me, I’m hopeful that more promising indie titles that are currently on the PC and PS4 can eventually make their way over to the Xbox One. Hopefully the year is still early and we have plenty more time to find out.

Are any of you looking forward to either Nutjitsu or Worms Battlegrounds ? Please feel free to let us know in the comments section below.
