Flappy Bird Becomes an MMO

Flappy Bird Becomes an MMO

Yet another chapter in the Flappy Bird saga begins today. The game has now become an MMO. It has arguably reached the pinnacle of its existence.

Named FlapMMO , the game is basically a Flappy Bird clone to the greatest degree. It even uses the same visual assets. The only difference, is that you get to see all the other people playing at the same time, and most of them fail at the first pole. In fact, you don’t even get to see your name if you don’t clear the first pole. You are just part of the nameless Flappy Bird swarm.

Do you have any idea how many people care about Flappy Bird ? Hundreds! Literally hundreds! Each server of FlapMMO handles 300-ish people and there are hundreds of servers. It’s depressing to actually watch this happen.

For those of you who haven’t been keeping up with the Flappy Bird saga, the game generated over $50k in ad revenue a day. That’s how popular it was. The developer eventually took the game down because he felt it was an addictive substance. Now everyone is making a Flappy Bird clone, including Maverick Bird from the creator of Super Hexagon, Fallout Bird , Flappy Doge and now Flappy MMO .

OK everyone. Can we please stop talking about Flappy Bird now?
