Amazon’s Double Helix Acquisition Won’t Affect New Strider Game

Amazon’s Double Helix Acquisition Won’t Affect New Strider Game

Late last week, Strider producer Andrew Szymanski confirmed in a Capcom Unity Q & A session that his upcoming reboot won’t be affected by Amazon’s acquisition of Double Helix. When pressed further about this topic, Andrew stated that Strider is complete and there will be no additional DLC packages to support the game after launch.

The Strider reboot is expected to launch tomorrow and will be one of the only Double Helix created games that won’t be impacted by Amazon.com. Microsoft has confirmed that Amazon will be helping out on their highly popular Killer Instinct fighting game reboot, but it is currently unknown what their plans are.

After hearing this news, I’m personally happy that fans who decide to purchase Strider will be getting a complete game for only $14.99. While one can’t really gauge if the Amazon acquisition will be bad or good, we at least know that Killer Instinct will be the first real test subject in this deal. Hopefully Amazon can make this title appealing again as the way Microsoft has handled this unfinished title so far has been pretty disappointing.

Are any of you planning on picking up Strider tomorrow? Please feel free to let us know in the comments section below.
