Many gamers have forgotten that Japan is actually behind on its consoles this generation. While Japan tends to receive the first new tech, the PS4 actually released in American before it hit Japanese shores. So all of the sales numbers that we have been using to compare the PS4 to the Xbox One exist independent of what many would consider Sony’s primary market. The PS4 has already sold over 5.3 million units worldwide. We wonder how much of a sales boost Japanese territories will give them?
In celebration, Sony held a one hour launch event which showcased several of the new titles that will be coming to the console. You can watch the full event in its entirety at its UStream archive. It’s entirely hosted in Japan, but new game footage knows no language barrier.
