While it’s not totally unprecedented for a game to get a PC port after a successful console release, it’s sometimes kind of an afterthought. However, Thief ’s producer wants people to know that this isn’t going to be just another port.
In a recent interview, Stephane Roy touted just how much gamers of the desktop variety are going to enjoy this latest iteration. “Honestly, if you’re a PC gamer, you’re going to be in love with this version. They are going to have a PC version, not a port. The PC version looks amazing also. The PC version is very solid.” He said.
While he doesn’t go into detail of exactly what will distinguish this game from its console counterpart, he does reveal there will be no shortage of features. “All the PC options you can imagine are there.” Roy proclaims.
Also, the system requirements were made available, as you’ll want the following recommended specs to get the best performance (although these are not the minimum). They include 20 GBs of hard drive space, 4 GBs of Ram, an AMD FX 8000 series or Intel i7 Quad Core CPU or better and a AMD Radeon HD R9 series or GTX 660 series graphics card.
You will also need Windows 7 or 8 to run the game (but these days, that goes without saying…sorry Mac).
