Detailed in a forum post on the Battlefield series’ ancillary website Battlelog by assistant producer Jesper Nielsen, Battlefield 4 developer DICE will soon be handing out early access invitations to a small group of players for its upcoming Platoons feature, a social add-on that allows you to group up with buddies and track their player statistics.
With the aim of gaining early feedback before this social feature drops, these selected players will be chosen to test certain parts of the system and provide said feedback accordingly. Nielsen encourages those who are interested in taking part in the early access should respond to the forum post with their usernames and the usernames of others you’d like to Platoon with. If you can list off your own, existing Platoon with all its members (yourself included), you’ll have a higher chance of getting onto the early access list.
If you are interested in taking part in the early access, Nielsen requests that each member of the Platoon you’re registering for, or for yourself in general, should have their respective Battlelog / Origin usernames listed in its own individual line, like how Nielsen exampled with his username in the forum post:

- Uhpam
- Kameeleon
Once players have been added to the early access list, the forum post will be updated further information, presumably one thing being a list of usernames of those who will be taking part in it. If your username appears on said early access list, Nielsen instructs that you log out of your Battlelog account and log back in again so the Platoons feature will appear on your profile–you’ll see its respective tile on Home and under the Soldier dropdown menu. Once you’re in a Platoon, you can only invite other players who have access to Platoons in order to invite them to your Platoon, so you can’t invite friends to your Platoon if they don’t have access to the Platoons feature.
