Persona Day: Persona 5 Confirmed for American Release

Welcome to another Persona day everyone. Since Atlus loves to announce all their Persona info at once, we have a ton of new announcements for this popular JRPG franchise. Next up are some developments regarding the latest entry in the Persona series, the upcoming Persona 5 .

Atlus has announced this morning that the latest Persona game will, in fact, be coming to America. Unfortunately, we will have to wait quite a while to play it. It’s currently been given a 2015 release time frame. This might work against the game, considering that it is slated to come out for the PS3 and the PS3 only. The PS4 will have been out for two years at that point, so it will be very easy to look over a PS3 release.

Persona 5 ‘s theme will be slavery… no not that kind of slavery. It’s all about being enslaved by modern society. Every character will be shackeled or rstrained by something, and the game will follow their attempt to free themsleves from those shackles. According to Atlus, the game will still take place in a school, but the setting will be much darker than it was before… which is impressive considering Persona 3 had students shoot themselves in the head to cast magic, and Persona 4 was about a deranged mass murderer.
