Battlefield 4 Introduces Platoons Later This Week

DICE is rolling out a brand new social gameplay element to Battlefield 4 called Platoons. Platoons basically allow players to group together via Battlelog to communicate and coordinate together. It’s basically like a Battlefield 4 guild.

When Platoons are integrated, players will be able to create Platoons that hold up to 100 members. Administrators will be able to invite players, kick out problematic members, and promote/demote members within the platoon, while non-platoon members can apply for platoons in-game. Platoon members will also have access to platoon specific emblems and tags that identify them as members of the platoon.

In addition, platoons will earn stats and rewards based on the match records of all its members. More wins means raising your platoon’s rank, while losses will make its spot in the leaderboards plummet.

Platoons are scheduled to roll out on February 27 th . DICE is planning to support the Platoon service for as long as Battlefield exists, integrating new features as time goes on.
