Waluigi fans are probably going to be sad today. Masahiro Sakurai has just confirmed his inclusion in the new Super Smash Bros … but only as an assist trophy. Waluigi fans have wanted his full inclusion in the game since his assist trophy appearance in Super Smash Bros. In fact, fans of this awkward Luigi clone have gone so far as to actually hack in his inclusion in several Smash Bros. Brawl mods. Unfortunately, that wasn’t enough for Sakurai to include him as a full character in the new Smash Bros. Let’s just hope that there is another code oversight that allows us to run modded code.
Waluigi will once again carry a tennis racket, and will stomp other characters into the ground before attempting to knock them off the stage. He will be joined by Ashley from WarioWare and Starfy as confirmed Assist Trophies in the new Smash Bros. The new Smash is set to release for the Wii U and 3DS later this year.
