Twitch Plays Pokémon is Nearly Finished

As professor Farnsworth from Futurama would say “GOOD NEWS EVERYONE!” Twitch Plays Pokémon is nearing its end. All badges have been obtained, Giovanni is beaten, and Red has managed to step foot on victory road. Despite set-backs, bots, and even people playing Tetris with the stream commands, it looks like the game is finally going to be beaten. All praise Lord Helix.

IF you want to catch up with Twitch Plays Pokémon, the entire social experiment has been chronicled. A timestamped recap can be found here , while a narrative recap can be found here. You can also check this public Google document to see what the hivemind’s current goal is, as well as their team and current location.

At its maximum, Twitch Plays Pokémon had over 100,000 viewers/contributors. This number will likely again skyrocket as we near the fated conclusion. Be sure to keep in touch with the hivemind at the official TwitchPlaysPokémon stream. Or, if you need something else to pass the time, check out RNG Plays Pokémon as well to see if a random number generator can do any better than a hive mind.
