Back in January it was announced by HBO CEO Richard Plepler that HBO and PlayStation had partnered to bring about the HBO GO app for PlayStation 3, with PlayStation 4 to follow afterwards.
The app would be a service linked with your HBO subscription via your cable or satellite provider, and would allow you unlimited, on-demand access to every episode of every season of your favourite HBO shows.
The service will also allow you to enjoy movies, sports, documentaries and special behind-the-scenes extras as well.
As of yesterday (March 5, Tuesday), the HBO GO app is now live on PlayStation 3, allowing users to watch shows including True Detection , Boardwalk Empire and Game of Thrones . As Game of Thrones’ Season 4 on the horizon, said to debut on April 6, and you happen to enjoy watching the series, you’ve got more than a month to catch yourself up with the last three seasons, which is what I need to do sometime soon.
PlayStation and HBO are still working on bringing the HBO GO app to PlayStation 4. We’ll update you on this should it reach our ears.
