Masahiro Sakurai recently revealed a brand new Smash Bros. stage. The stage is based off Tortimer Island, from the Animal Crossing series. Currently, only the 3DS version of the stage has been unveiled. Masahiro Sakurai had this to say about the stage.
“What a beautiful day. On this stage, fighters are randomly placed on a different island layout every time they visit. Yar, come back anytime, will ye?”
Does this mean that the stage’s layout changes every time you select it? Sounds like it. That’s good because the stage as it stands now looks… kind of boring. It’s just a flat platform with a raised hill. There isn’t even any ledge to fall off of. There’s just water surrounding the island on all sides. Granted, there is room in the game for stages without ledges, but stages like this are almost always banned from tournament play.
