Who is winning the console war? According to the most recent NPD report, Sony, but only by a narrow margin. “ [The] PS4 led hardware sales in February 2014,” the report said “but by a narrow margin with Xbox One selling over 90% of what the PS4 sold in terms of unit sales. However, with Xbox One’s higher price point it led hardware sales on a dollar basis.”
That being said, Microsoft is actually winning the sales wars, If not the console wars. When you combine the Xbox One sales with Xbox 360 sales, Microsoft has sold more consoles than Sony with the PS3/Vita/PS4 combined, and Nintendo with the Wii U/3DS Combined.
