EA and Oculus VR Join The Immersive Technology Alliance

Even though VR technology is progressing by leaps and bounds, it’s still way outside of the realm of home enjoyment. Sure, you could drop 15,000 dollars on a VR treadmill to go with your already pricey Oculus Rift, but if normal people had that money to drop out of nowhere, the U.S. Economy wouldn’t be in the shithole it is in now. Luckily, there exists a group that is doing it’s best to bring VR technology into the home. That group is the Immersive Technology Alliance.

The ITA, originally formed as the Stereoscopic 3D Gaming Alliance, was renamed when it turned out that Stereoscopic 3D Gaming would include more than just 3D TVs. It was originally founded in 2009, and has grown to include Oculus VR, EA, Technical Illusions, Gameface Labs, Digital Extremes, Panasonic, Avegant, Epson and even Harvard University. If anyone can find a way to make VR gaming commonplace, it’s this dream team.
