Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster Is Much More Than A HD Facelift

Most HD Remakes these days are really nothing more than a few upgraded textures slapped on an older game. Leave it to Square-Enix, however, to go one step further with Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster .

In addition to the main games, X/X-2 HD Remaster includes a brand new game that takes place after the events of X-2 . Entitled Last Mission , the game sees Yuna, Rikku and Paine climbing the Iutycyr Tower in a roguelike format. The game takes place in a top down perspective and keeps time in increments. Every time you move a square, enemies move a square. Your job is to manage your equipment and dress spheres to make it to the top of the tower without dying. It’s actually a really interesting game that we here in the states haven’t yet seen.

In addition to Last Mission , all the international content from Final Fantasy X and X-2 will be included in the HD Remaster . Not only does this mean you can play the game in its original Japanese, but it also means that a whole bunch of new extra bosses and missions are included. Not only that, but the new redesigned sphere grid is also included in HD Remaster , which starts everyone clustered together on a much more open pathway. Want to make Yuna a heavy attacker? Well now you can!

Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster is set to come out here in the states tomorrow. Stand by for a full review!
