All Guitar Hero DLC Disappearing on March 31st

The age of the rhythm game is truly over. Once great rhythm franchise Guitar Hero is shutting the doors on all of its additional DLC. No additional songs for any Guitar Hero games will be available to download post March 31 st , nor will the mobile version of the game or digital distribution version of the game. The same applies to other games in the “ Hero ” series, including Band Hero and DJ Hero .

As a “thank you” to all Guitar Hero fans, Activision is allowing all DLC to be sold at a huge discount before it disappears. All songs will be available at 50% off on all platforms through the end of the month. You can also download the Guitar Hero mobile game for only 99 cents. Come the end of the month, Guitar Hero servers will still stay online and the songs you already purchased will remain playable, but you just won’t be able to purchase any more.

Activision has frequently said that it treasures it’s Guitar Hero franchise and that the franchise will return one day as a totally reinvented IP, but for now, consider it backing out of the rhythm game market.
