Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes Will Not Work Without a Proper Hard Drive

It’s been a while since the Xbox 360 first launched, so many of us have likely forgotten that early models didn’t even have harddrives on them. Dubbed the Xbox 360 Arcade, the idea was that these consoles would be used for playing games and nothing else. How shortsighted the owners of these consoles were.

Let’s face it. It kind of blows to not be able to download digital content or even patch your games, but it sucks even more to miss out on modern day releases. Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes , for example, requires an attached harddrive to run. Some games have allowed users to get around install requirements by letting them install on a flash drive or a USB harddrive. Not so for Ground Zeroes . Either have an internal harddrive or get out.

That being said, Ground Zeroes only requires a 1.7GB install, which is pretty small compared to other AAA games like Titanfall . Also, the game only lasts about 10 minutes, so even if you can’t install it, you aren’t missing out on much.
