Original Hotline Miami to Drop on PS4

Original Hotline Miami to Drop on PS4

During an interview with Destructoid at this year’s Game Developer’s Conference, Devolver Digital’s Nigel Lowrie announced that the original Hotline Miami , developed for PC by Dennaton Games and ported to PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita, would be dropping on PlayStation 4. A specific date was not mentioned.

Since Hotline Miami 2 will be launching PlayStation 4, Devolver figured it should bring the original Hotline Miami to PlayStation 4, too. What’s more, cross-buy will be implemented. So, for those of you who already own Hotline Miami on your PlayStation 3 or your PlayStation Vita, you will be able to play the game on PlayStation 4 for free, because you already own the title.

“We’re going to bring Hotline Miami 1 to, like, PlayStation 4, just because we’re gonna do it,” Lowrie explained. “And because we’ve already worked on Hotline Miami 2 on PlayStation 4. So, we’re gonna do that, and we’re just gonna keep it cross-buy, because we feel that if the users bought it on a platform–PlayStation platform–they have the rights to, y’know, own it on Vita, on PlayStation 4, on PlayStation 3. So, if you already own it, you’ll be able to play it on PlayStation 4.”

Hotline Miami 2 will be showcased at this year’s PAX East, and is said to feature additions that will change the game quite a bit. The game will be dropping this summer for PC, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita.
