Nester Prank Fools Smash Fans a Day Before April Fools

It appeared as if a recent update to the new Smash Bros. website revealed yet another member of the Smash Bros. roster. The new entrant was Nester, the “mascot” so to speak of Nintendo Power. Nester appeared to use a bowling ball (from Nester’s Funky Bowling ) and a NES Zapper in his attacks. However, his model looked… kind of janky at best. Nevertheless, we saw Nester take the stage in several screenshots for both the Wii U and 3DS.

There’s only one problem: Nester’s inclusion was simply a fake. You can tell by the site that it was uploaded on. www.smashbros.us is NOT the official Smash website, even though it looks identical in every other way. www.smashbros.com is the official website, and if you go there you won’t find any evidence that the Nester reveal is real.

That being said, there was some real info revealed on the official Smash website, specifically for Luigi. It appears as if Luigi will use the poltergeist vacuum to suck up enemies, in the new Smash . It’s unclear whether or not the vacuum is a special move, or a new version of his Final Smash as he is glowing in the screenshot. It would certainly make more sense than the weird “negative zone” thing he did in Smash Bros. Brawl .
