A couple of leaked images came about on Monday, March 31, on the Italian website Everyeye.it, depicting potential box covers for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One ports of Metro: 2033 and Metro: Last Light . The image of the ports, as featured above, implied that both of the Metro titles would on one single disc, dubbed “ Metro: Redux ”.
According to the images, and Google Translate, Metro: Redux was slated for a July 2014 release on both Xbox One and PlayStation 4, as well as on PC.
As reported by GameSpot , the leaked images were taken down swiftly after they cropped up, but All Games Beta managed to save a copy of the information.
Shortly afterwards, Deep Silver–the publisher of the Metro series–posted a follow-up statement on the leaked images. In pure transparency, the publisher confirmed the existence of Metro: Redux , but stressed that the leaked images were taken from an old, internal planning presentation; “ Metro: Redux ” might not be the name of the final product. Deep Silver isn’t quite ready to reveal anything just yet, but it will be making an announcement at E3.
All that is know at this stage is that Metro: 2033 and Metro: Last Light will be coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, either under the title “ Metro: Redux ” or under something else. The publisher’s post can be read in full below.

Is Metro Redux real?
Yes. We never made any secret of 4A’s desire to bring Metro to the latest generation of console hardware.
But what you saw leaked was taken from an old, internal planning presentation, containing some nuggets of truth but a lot of hypothetical ideas and place holder material.
(Eagle eyed fans will recognize the artwork on the ‘packshot’ as the art from the original Russian edition of the Metro 2033 novel. And that ‘logo’ is just the old Metro 2033 logo with the ‘2033’ scrubbed out and ‘Redux’ added… )
As you can see, we’re not quite ready to reveal 4A Games’ first next-gen console project, but we will be making an announcement this side of E3.
And we think the reality is a lot more exciting than the out-dated material that got leaked shows, and we’re itching to share it with you. Just not yet. ”
