Ultra Rapid Fire Gamemode Added to League of Legends

Ultra Rapid Fire Gamemode Added to League of Legends

Revealed as an April Fool’s joke as “the future of League of Legends, ” Riot Games has introduced a new gamemode to the featured games roster, dubbed as “Ultra Rapid Fire”, for a limited time, which went live on April 1 and will last until next week.

The Ultra Rapid Fire game mode is what it sounds like: mostly everything in the game is sped up. Taking place on the Summoner’s Rift map, every champion begins with 80 percent cooldown reduction on their respective abilities, items and summoner spells. What’s more, mana costs have been removed, resulting in unlimited mana, and attack speed bonuses for ranged champions have been doubled.

The full list of buffs you receive in Ultra Rapid Fire, comically dubbed “Awesome Buff of Awesomely Awesome Buffing”, is listed below.

  • MANA AND ENERGY COST: All ability costs reduced to 0;

  • COOLDOWN REDUCTION: 80% on abilities, activated items and summoner spells;

  • MOVEMENT SPEED: +60 for all champions;

  • TENACITY: +25% for all champions;

  • ATTACK SPEED BONUSES: Bonuses given by items/abilities increased by 100% on ranged champions;

  • CRITICAL STRIKE DAMAGE: Increased by 25% of base damage on ranged champions;

  • GOLD GAIN: +500% of the amount normally granted on Summoner’s Rift.

Ultra Rapid Fire will be live until 05:00 CET on Tuesday, April 8. Riot Games has released a preview video on the gamemode, which can viewed below.
