April Fool’s! Your save is gone. This is what countless Thief players experienced yesterday, as save after save was corrupted in the recent release of Thief . Some saves were completely vanishing while other saves were simply losing parts of their data, most notably sidequests. The PS4, Xbox One, and PC versions of the game were affected, and supposedly you can fix these problems by changing your clock to April 8 th , if you are running the game in a copy of Windows 7.
“We’re taking this very seriously–as a first step we’re reading as many reports of the issue as possible, working to replicate it internally, so that we can understand what’s causing it. We’re sorry for any disruption to your game today, and we’ll update you as soon as we have more information,” said Square Enix’s official response.
