You know, now that we think about it, there haven’t been a whole lot of Zelda themed items in the Smash Bros. series. I mean, heck, we got laser swords and super mushrooms, but quite literally a game that has a primary theme of item collection has very few item representatives. Smash Bros. director Masahiro Sakurai is going to change all that.
"We'll take the most interesting and straightforward [Zelda items] and reformulate them to match the Smash Bros. world," he said. The one he showed off today was the Gust Bellows, which can blow enemies away with powerful gusts of wind. Unfortunately, if you drop the bellows it will fire off random gusts in all directions.
In previous Smash Bros. installments, the Deku Nut, Bunny Hood, and Heart Container have made appearances, but no real Zelda “tools” have taken center stage. What Zelda items do you want to see make it into the new Smash Bros. Let us know in the comments.
