Hearthstone Launches on iPad

Hearthstone Launches on iPad

Blizzard Entertainment has now officially released its free-to-play card collecting game Hearthstone on iPad in Australia, Canada and New Zealand, with releases in other regions around the world to follow soon.

Essentially Hearthstone’s PC version in a more portable fashion, the iPad Hearthstone includes all the features as included in its PC counterpart. Wherever you can find an internet connection, you’ll be able to log into Hearthstone and build your decks, collect your cards and play a few games with your friends in Play, or climb the Ranked ladder or attempt a high run in The Area.

What’s more, the iPad version has been implemented with cross-play, meaning all the progress and data you’ve amounted on Hearthstone for PC will be accessible via the iPad version, allowing you to access all your collected cards and pick up right where you left off while on the move.

Blizzard’s reasoning behind launching Hearthstone for iPad in limited regions at this time is so the studio can focus on the end-to-end player experiences, thus ensuring that the end product is fit for release to the rest of the world.

Launching Hearthstone in a limited set of countries allows us to focus on the end-to-end player experience and make sure it’s awesome before we move on to the rest of the world, ” reads the official announcement on Battle.net . “ If you don’t live in Australia, Canada, or New Zealand, you don’t have much longer to wait to get your hands on Hearthstone for iPad.

Blizzard’s staff has assured that a version will also–eventually–come to iPhone, and that an Android version is also on the horizon, but it will take a while because the iOS version was way ahead.

Hearthstone entered Open Beta back in mid January, initially in North America and later in other regions. The title officially released a couple months later in early March.
