Rumor: Borderlands Getting a Midquel

Rumor: Borderlands Getting a Midquel

According to a brand new report by GamesPointsNow.com, a new Borderlands game is being developed. The new game, pegged as a pre-sequel or midquel, is supposedly going to connect the events of Borderlands 1 and Borderlands 2 . The game will be a collaborative effort between 2K Australia and Gearbox Software and is set to come out on the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC sometime this fall.

The game will let you play as one of the four lieutenants of a younger handsome jack. These characters are Athena the Gladiator, Wilhelm the Enforcer, Nisha the Lawbringer and Ragtrap, a militarized claptrap. The game will be set both on one of Hyperion’s moons and on the Hyperion H base that is orbiting Pandora. A new “Cryo” element will be introduced, which will allow you to freeze your enemies in place. The game will also feature jetpacks and players will need to manage oxygen levels to survive.

At least, that’s all according to this report. Gearbox has not yet commented on this, so for now all we can say is that it’s a rumor. That being said, this certainly sounds like a Borderlands game I would want to play.
