Bandai Namco Recruiting for Mysterious Smash Bros. Title

Bandai Namco Recruiting for Mysterious Smash Bros. Title

For those of you who don’t know, Bandai Namco, creator of such games as Soul Calibur and Tekken , is actually working on the new Smash Bros. title.  For all we knew, this new Smash Bros. was supposed to come out in 2014. But now, a strange recruitment posting seems to be causing doubts.

According to Game Jouhou, a recruitment listing from Bandai Namco asked for programmers for a new Smash Bros. 6 project. The project is slated to come out in 2014 for the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS. The project apparently had 120 people on it and Bandai Namco was looking to grow that to 200. As far as any of us can tell, the posting was legit, coming directly from Namco Bandai for the site A-Career FA.

Unfortunately, this whole thing is a bit weird. The Smash Bros. currently being developed is Smash Bros. 4 , which means we are missing Smash Bros. 5 somewhere in the middle. Something here doesn’t add up, but we aren’t sure what it is.
