As announced in a tweet from Nintendo of America’s official Twitter account, the next Super Smash Bros. title will launch on the 3DS this coming summer, followed by a Wii U release sometime this winter.

The tweet was posted prior to Nintendo’s Nintendo Direct broadcast on Tuesday, April 8. Masahiro Sakurai, the director of Super Smash Bros. , recently stated that there will be more items from the Zelda franchise included in the title, such as the Gust Bellows, which will blow enemies away with gusts of wind, but goes off in all directions if dropped.
” We’ll take the most interesting and straightforward [ Zelda items] and reformulate them to match the Smash Bros. world, ” he said .
What’s more, Namco Bandai have started recruiting for a mysterious Super Smash Bros. title, asking for programmers to work on a Smash Bros. 6 project that’s slated release on the Wii U and 3DS.
