Gaming is just one big incestuous family at this point. For a while now, Iron Galaxy has been teasing a brand new addition to the Divekick roster. That new character is Johnny Gat from Saints Row .
But how did this happen? Well according to Adam “Keits” Heart he was playing Saints Row 4 and got to the “spoilers” Saints of Rage portion, where the game becomes a 2D side scrolling beat em up. During that portion, you get a classic beat em’ up divekick in your move roster, and defeating the section gives you a new move called Death from Above. Well, after a short exchange on Twitter about how both games were referencing each other, Volition games tweeted Heart “Let’s put Johnny Gat in Divekick ” and BOOM, it was done.
Gat has a pretty simple kick, but his special moves are what’s interesting. His ground special calls a car that causes instant KO if it hits the opponent. His air special is a black hold gun which holds you in place BUT doesn’t take away your kick boxes. So Gat may accidentally kick himself in the face by doing this.
Aside from Gat, Iron Galaxy has promised that they will unveil one new secret character, once 50,000 online matches have been played in Divekick . So get online and start Divekicking!
