Didn’t get a chance to try out the brand new remake of the classic Sega game, Mickey’s Castle of Illusion . Well now you can, as Castle of Illusion will be this week’s featured entry in the PlayStation Plus Instant Game collection.
If you haven’t heard of Castle of Illusion , the original or the remake, then listen up. It’s essentially a platformer, starring Mickey Mouse, where Mickey explores several different fantasy worlds. The game was originally a 2D platformer, but the remake opens the game up with 3D bosses and exploration elements. Beware though, because the game is truly oldschool hard, and will give you a run for your money even if you are the best platforming gamer out there. Though it suffers from some camera problems it’s certainly a fun distraction, especially if you like speedrunning. Besides, who can bass up free games!
In addition to the new Castle of Illusion , the free PlayStation Plus version will also include a downloadable copy of the original 1990s Sega Genesis game. Players will be able to download the game bundle starting tomorrow and it will remain free through April 28 th .
