Georgia Passes Law Giving Tax Breaks to Video Game Developers

Georgia Passes Law Giving Tax Breaks to Video Game Developers

Thinking about opening up your own video game studio? Consider moving to Georgia? Today, Georgia governor Nathan Deal signed a bill that will grant Georgia based video game developers up to $25 million in tax credits. Some Georgia based studios that will be receiving these tax breaks include Hi-Rez Studios and Tripwire Interactive.

This is actually the second round of tax breaks that game developers will be receiving in Georgia. In 2008, the state signed the Entertainment Industry Investment Act which provided a 20% tax credit to film, tv, and game development studios. Together with these new tax breaks, this makes Georgia a phenomenal candidate for new gaming studios.
