Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes sells 278,000 Copies in the U.S.

Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes sells 278,000 Copies in the U.S.

The next installment of the Metal Gear franchise, which is really just a preview for the next, next installment of the Metal Gear franchise, Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes , has sold almost 300,000 copies in the U.S. It has sold 204,000 copies on next gen systems and 74,000 copies on current gen systems… although we should really start changing the terminology at this point.

That may seem pretty low for a Metal Gear game, but you have to remember that Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes only came out on March 18 th , giving it a limited amount of time to sell. Not only that, but these numbers are for U.S. sales only. It sold another 300,000 copies in Japan, and European numbers aren’t even in yet.

Even so, Ground Zeroes has come under fire for basically being a full priced demo of a game. It will be interesting to see how these sales eventually will stack up with the sales of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain .
