Wasteland 2 Early Access Beta Adds Linux Support

Earlier today, inXile Entertainment confirmed that the early access beta for their upcoming Wasteland 2 video game now offers Linux support. The studio also stated that the latest patch update includes world map enhancements, combat and balance tweaks, a new vendor screen and over 400 other notable changes. Wasteland 2 is the long awaited sequel to the 1988 post-apocalyptic classic RPG series. The game initially started out as a Kickstarter project and was quickly funded roughly 24 hours after going live. The early access beta of that game launched in December of last year and is now readily available to play on Linux, PC, and Mac OS X.

This news will especially appeal to those who have been patiently waiting for this game to come to Linux. Wasteland 2 was one of the many games that proved to have a successful Kickstarter campaign when developers started turning to the website for crowdfunding alternatives. The digital deluxe edition of Wasteland 2 currently retails for $59.99. The finished version of the game is expected to launch later this year.
