Nintendo Sued for Patent Infringement

As reported by Nintendo World Report , both Nintendo and Nintendo of America, as well as a bunch of other companies who remain unnamed, are being accused and sued for patent infringement by Secure Axcess.

The patent in question, whose documentation was published on February 18, 2003, relates to multiple display compatibility, presumably like that of the DS handhelds or the Wii U. The patent’s opening sentence describes it as a computer providing multiple display capability where one display presents the current document and another display may show a true display of a previously opened document.

Secure Axcess, a subsidiary of Prism Technologies, is a company that is “ dedicated to monetization and management of internet security patents, ” according to its website . The company is looking to gain compensatory damages, costs and other reliefs for companies, such as Nintendo, selling the Wii U without license or authorization.

Nintendo recently released a brand new trailer for its upcoming Kirby Triple Deluxe title, which is slated for release on May 2.
