Huge Project Coming From Gears Creator

Huge Project Coming From Gears Creator

There’s an old saying: don’t be afraid to toot your own horn! We’ll, you don’t have to tell that to Epic founder Tim Sweeney, as he just made some very lofty promises regarding several future game projects!

Aside from dropping rye hints about a possible mobile release, Sweeney touted that their current project in the works will be nothing like we’ve seen on the consoles, literally! He claims it will push the graphics of the next-gen further than anything produced thus far on the Xbox One or PS4. This also led him to stamp out rumors that suggest Epic is getting out of traditional game development after the announcement of the new subscription service for the Unreal Engine. “At any time there are over 100 engineers working on the Unreal Engine,” he emphatically states “and there are more than 100 developers worldwide at Epic contributing to our games, so they’re really inseparable–the engine is based on the feedback from our game development processes.”

While we’re seeing no shortage of big budget titles (like the upcoming Destiny or the recently released Titanfall ), there is something to be said for mobile’s influence and the shift away from such huge price tags. Sweeny says that “…the industry’s changing. This generation it seems like there are about a third of the number of triple-A titles in development across the industry as there was last time around–and each one seems to have about three times the budget of the previous generation. I think we’re heading towards a future where triple-A is the minority.”

CheatCC will bring you more information regarding Epic’s secret next-gen venture as it is made available.
