Connection Issues Make Soulcalibur: Lost Swords Unplayable

Hacker advocates, get ready to light up the internet because we have yet another game that is unplayable due to an always online internet connection. The victim this time around is Soulcalibur: Lost Swords , the latest free-to-play iteration of the Soulcalibur franchise. But hey, at least you can rest easy knowing that this isn’t really a DRM issue. The game is free-to-play after all, any pirate is just wasting their time.

But sure enough, the game requires you to connect to a server in order to play it, even in single player. Since there are, understandably, a lot of players looking to get in on this, the servers are kind of chocking on the player load. As a result, many players are able to make a profile and create a character but are not actually able to play the game. In addition, you cannot continue to play Soul Calibur: Lost Swords if you get signed out of the PlayStation Network. So the game just does not operate offline.

Bandai Namco America has acknowledged that the game is experiencing a technical issue that will delay its launch. However, despite this statement the game can still be downloaded on the PSN today. Hopefully it will be fixed soon. We will bring you more information on Soulcalibur: Lost Swords as it becomes available.
