Rejoice, all of you who play Minecraft on a console. You won’t have to leave behind your Minecraft creations when you upgrade to the new console generation. “After months of teaming up with Mojang,” said Microsoft’s Phil Spencer on Twitter, “we can confirm that Minecraft X360 Edition will save transfer to Xbox One Edition …more news soon!”
The Xbox One version of Minecraft is said to allow much larger world sizes than the Xbox 360 version. A number of other upgrades are also sad to be in development, but the full extent of these upgrades is unknown. The port is being developed by 4J studios, the same studio that ported Minecraft to Xbox 360.
Minecraft is one of the most played games on the market right now, even more than some of the most well known AAA hits like Call of Duty . It has been ported to pretty much every platform that we have available to us, including mobile phones. It was only natural that the Xbox One would also have it’s own version of Minecraft to let it’s fan base get addicted to.
