Mad Max Delayed until 2015

Initially slated for a 2014 release, a trailer–released on Friday, April 25–for Avalanche Studios’ Mad Max revealed that the title will be launching in 2015. Further details as to the reason behind this delay have yet to be announced.

The trailer itself showcases Max’s Magnum Opus, a car which Max and a few others build to replace the allegedly iconic Interceptor after it was stolen.

“Mad Max delivers open world gameplay in a post-apocalyptic setting where cars are the key to survival, ” reads the trailer’s description. “ Developed by Avalanche Studios, gamers become Mad Max, a lone warrior who must fight to stay alive in The Wasteland, using vicious on-ground and vehicular combat against savage gangs of bandits. Following the theft of his iconic Interceptor, Max must align himself with a gifted, but peculiar, mechanic named Chumbucket and others to build the ultimate war vehicle as he works to escape from the dangerous Wasteland.

It was confirmed back in 2013 that Mad Max’s protagonist will have an Australian accent following an outcry from fans after viewing a trailer at E3 that featured Max with an American accent. The game will also feature 50 different vehicles. It was first revealed that a Mad Max game was in the works back in 2008.

Mad Max will be releasing on PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
