Sony CEO To Take a 50 Percent Pay Cut

Sony CEO To Take a 50 Percent Pay Cut

Remember when Nintendo execs cut their pay for the poor performance of the Wii U? Well it looks like Sony will be doing the same. Sony CEO Kazuo Hirai and other top Sony execs will be forgoing their bonuses and will be taking a fifty percent pay cut, according to The Wall Street Journal. Sony is about to report their fourth annual loss in five years to the tune of a whopping 1.27 billion dollars!

Note that a lot of this isn’t a result of Sony’s videogame business. The PS4 is still the best selling console of the new generation (although the price cut of the Xbox One that was just announced may change all that).  Rather, Sony is taking the biggest hit from their PC business, which it is intending to sell off. It’s TV division has not been doing so well either.
