Three New DLC Packs Introduce Characters and Weapons to LEGO The Hobbit

Revealed on Thursday, May 15 in a press release, three new DLC packs have been announced for the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 versions of LEGO The Hobbit , which are all available via Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network respectively.

Two of the three packs introduce new characters, while the third brings in new weapons and items. The press release neglected to mention any pricing information.

The two character packs, “ The Big Little Character Pack ” and the “ Side Quest Character Pack ”, introduce Baby Smaug and Baby Gimli as a cameo for you to group up and adventure with. You’ll also have the Snow Troll to shake things up a little bit, as well as the opportunity to play as Bandobras “Bullroarer” Took or a Stone Dwarf from Erebor.

What’s more, you’ll be able to take control of a River Troll or Girion, the last Lord of Dale. There will also be an Elk that will offer to transport you wherever you would like, and there will also be a fearless Dwarf soldier to charge into battle with you.

As for the third pack, “ The Battle Pack ”, you’ll have a myriad of new weapons and items to go on an adventure with. Take into battle with you the Shadow Sword, or equip yourself with the Jeweled Mithril Armor, and utilize the Light Orb Shield whenever things get a little hairy.

Alternatively, you can choose to wield the Axe Guitar, the Orc Cleaver and/or Bow, or put on a pair of Lake-town Boots or Smaug’s Feet to make sure all your trekking won’t blister your little plastic feet. Furthermore, you can also use the Buddy-up Gloves to smash your way through Buddy-up cracks, or don Smaug’s Headdress or the Dwarf King Wig to make sure you look fabulous whilst journeying around in Middle-earth.

LEGO The Hobbit released in North America on Tuesday, April 8 and on Friday, April 11 in Europe on all PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Wii U, 3DS, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
