The next installment to the FarCry series, FarCry 4 , will be set around the mountain ranges of the Himalayas , which is a far cry away from the tropical island FarCry 3 was set in! Get it? Good.
According to some information that was accidentally leaked on the game’s now-removed pre-order page on Ubisoft’s Uplay client, FarCry 4’s plot will be taking place in the country of Kryat, where Ajay Ghale (you) travels in order to fulfill their mother’s dying wish.
Your journey apparently won’t be that simple, as you’ll soon find yourself caught up in a civil war (again), so you have to overthrow an oppressive regime (again) brought on by the dictator Pagan Min (presumably the guy in the fancy-ass–yet fabulous–attire).
“ Hidden in the majestic Himalayas lies Kyrat, a country steeped in tradition and violence, ” the plot synopsis apparently read on the pre-order page. “Y ou are Ajay Ghale. Traveling to Kyrat to fulfill your mother’s dying wish, you find yourself caught up in a civil war to overthrow the oppressive regime of dictator Pagan Min.
Explore and navigate this vast open world, where danger and unpredictability lurk around every corner. Here, every decision counts, and every second is a story. Welcome to Kyrat, ” the synopsis continued.
While both the game’s page and the information has since been removed from Uplay, luckily someone did manage to capture a cached version of the synopsis .
Also hinted at on the page was a Limited Edition version of the game, which was said to include additional content, entitled “ Hurk’s Redemption ”, which was apparently a pack of three action-packed singleplayer missions.
FarCry 4 is said to be officially showcased at Ubisoft’s press conference at this year’s E3 in June, and it is expected to release on Xbox One, PC and PlayStation 4. It is currently known whether or not Ubisoft is working on versions for last-gen consoles.
