Child of Light Confirmed for PS Vita in July

As reported by Polygon, Ubisoft Montreal announced on Tuesday, May 20 that it’s 2D watercolored role-playing game Child of Light will be released on Sony’s PlayStation Vita during the summer on Tuesday, July 1. Other than that, the studio did not reveal any pricing information.

Ubisoft revealed Child of Light back in August last year , where FarCry 3’s creative director Patric Plourde previewed the game during 2013’s Game Developers Conference in Europe.

During his presentation, Plourde listed off a number of various inspirations for the title, including work from the famous anime producer Studio Ghibli, a selection of other games such as Final Fantasy VI and Limbo , and more.

The game also utilizes Ubisoft’s in-house engine UbiArt Framework, which was also used for Rayman Origins and Rayman Legends .

Child of Light released on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Wii U, PC, Xbox One and Xbox 360 back during the end of April and the beginning of may across North America, Europe, Australia and Japan.
