Quantum Break Launches on Xbox One in 2015

As reported by Polygon, Remedy Entertainment’s videogame-TV series involving time shenanigans, Quantum Break, will be launching exclusively on Microsoft’s Xbox One in 2015, the studio’s creative director Sam Lake announced in a video that was published on YouTube on Thursday, May 29.

Lake also revealed that both Remedy Entertainment and Microsoft will be showcasing Quantum Break for the first time at this year’s Gamescom in Germany on Thursday, August 14 through to Sunday, August 17.

Lake touted the game as being one part ” cinematic action game ” and one part ” top of the line live-action show, ” where the game’s narrative is split up between the two: the good guys in the Quantum Break game, and the bad guys in the Quantum Break show.

The game is about heroes. The show is about villains, ” Lake began in the announcement video. ” In the game, you play Jack Joyce in a desperate fight to stop the fracture that threatens to cause the end of time. In the show, in the style of an edgy modern TV series, you follow the schemes and power play inside Monarch, the corporation that’s Jack’s main enemy.

At the end of his announcement, Lake left us with a little preview of what to expect from Quantum Break with a few sequences of ” time-amplified action gameplay, ” which can be found around one minute and 20 seconds into the embedded video below.
