New “Steam” Mechanic Revealed for Super Smash Bros

New “Steam” Mechanic Revealed for Super Smash Bros

Speaking on Miiverse last night, Smash Bros. creator Masahiro Sakura revealed a brand new visual mechanic in Super Smash Bros. When characters take an incredibly high amount of damage, they will start to leak steam. This steam is to signify that one good smash may cost the character a life.

It’s not clear what the finer details of this steam indicator mean, such as how high your damage actually has to be before you start steaming, or how likely it is that you will be knocked off. It’s also unclear whether or not this mechanic will also be used in the DS version of the game.

We will bring you more information about Smash Bros. when we play the new title at this year’s E3.
