Dark Souls Temporarily Free for Xbox 360 Gold Members

Dark Souls Temporarily Free for Xbox 360 Gold Members

Adding upon Microsoft’s Games with Gold privilege–specifically the first games of such being revealed for the Xbox One –other games have been announced for Xbox users for the month of June.

If you happen to be that person who’s heard of Dark Souls , but hasn’t had a chance to get into it, you’ll have your shot at playing the game at no extra cost on top of your Xbox Live Gold membership fee when the next Games with Gold rotation comes around later on in the month.

Dark Souls won’t be the only free title included with Games with Gold, however; other games include the following:

Xbox One

  • Max: The Curse of Brotherhood ; and

  • Halo: Spartan Assault .

Xbox 360

  • Dark Souls ;

  • Charlie Murder ; and

  • Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition .

With June officially kicking off soon, Xbox Live Gold members are especially prosperous with a total of five free games on Xbox One and Xbox 360, ” Microsoft wrote in the announcement. “ As Head of Xbox Phil Spencer recently announced , June’s system update will debut Games with Gold on Xbox One, with two great games – Max: The Curse of Brotherhood and Halo: Spartan Assault .

And on Xbox 360, members will receive Dark Souls , Charlie Murder and the bonus game Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition ,” Microsoft added . No matter what, you’re in for a good time so make sure you get in on the action!

There’s a big update coming to Xbox users next week on Monday, June 9, and it’ll be the update that will enable the changes that were announced in May.

Once you update your console, you will then be able to take advantage of a fair chunk of Xbox 360 and Xbox One entertainment apps (like Netflix, Hulu and more) without requiring Xbox Live Gold membership; most of the Xbox One’s services will then no longer need Xbox Live Gold in order to be accessed.

The Xbox One will also start shipping without the Kinect (with a $100 price drop to boot) on June 9. The console package will still include everything that it has before, except there will now be a boxed version that’ll come without the peripheral. Microsoft has confirmed that early Xbox One buyers will not be refunded in light of the console’s price cut.
