Today it was announced that the Destiny beta will be available in just one month on July 17 th . However the pre-alpha starts today!
A trailer (giving us a bit more insight into the plot of the game) was also debuted. It turns out that The Traveler is both the greatest thing to ever happen to humanity, and simultaneously the worst. When it first arrived, it resulted in a time of great prosperity. Chief among our new achievements was the human colonization of our surrounding planets and a tripling of our life expectancy. However, this was not to last, as what they call the “Darkness” had hunted The Traveler to Earth (nearly wiping us out in the process). Now it is our jobs to fight for what’s left of humanity, as we yet carry a little piece of the Traveler’s light within us.
A white PS4 with a 500 GB hard drive was also debuted along with the game, which is available on September 9 th .
